Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengukur keterampilan mendengarkan siswa melalui penggunaan video berita berjudul banjir bandang di Cipatat. Keterampilan mendengarkan merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia karena mendukung kemampuan untuk memahami informasi dengan tepat dan kritis (Tarigan, 2008). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan evaluatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa sekolah menengah pertama yang diberikan tugas untuk mendengarkan video berita dan menjawab pertanyaan pemahaman yang berkaitan dengan isi berita. Meskipun media yang digunakan adalah video, informasi yang disampaikan mencerminkan struktur dan karakteristik linguistik dari teks berita, sehingga tetap relevan dalam konteks pembelajaran mendengarkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teks berita yang aktual dan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan minat dan konsentrasi siswa dalam aktivitas mendengarkan (Sutopo dan Maryanto, 2019). Secara umum, pelajar mampu menangkap informasi utama dan rincian penting dari teks yang mereka dengarkan, meskipun masih ada kesulitan dalam memahami makna tersirat (Anderson dan Lynch, 2003). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi materi aktual dalam pembelajaran mendengarkan dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa.
