Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis pada peserta didik kelas X2 SMAN 1 kencong masih cukup rendah. Tujuan dari penulisan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas X2 SMAN 1 kencong dengan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan mind mapping. Penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan mind mapping ini bertujuan agar peserta didik mampu mengembangkan keterampilan menganalisis, penyelidikan, dan pemecahan masalah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang melibatkan sebanyak 36 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan pengumpulan data hasil analisis dari tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan media pembelajaran mind mapping mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis terjadi peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya yaitu pada siklus I menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mencapai 62,14% dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 82,12%. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning dengan berbantuan mind mapping dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa kelas X2 SMAN 1 Kencong.
